Had a blast today - I was only out for an hour but had all the rides I wanted. Thicker high tide wedges but still shoulder high on the bigger sets. I ran into steamroller out there too, he was stoked as hell.

4-5 feet and decent shape - a few long rides this morning. I'm still too out of shape and looked like a total kook out there.

Ya I've got my stoke back and I'm done with my little surf sabbatical finally. I tried a couple of times to get back out again regularly but this time I'm back in the groove. :)
The Mid Point Mafia is going to have to go. The place has gone even more to hell and is so kook-ridden it makes me sick. One day we may need to regroup the C-Street Militia but for now I'm going to have to go solo with the blades and armored rails until I can build a new band of surf mercenaries. Somehow there needs to be a revival of localism. It's the only thing that works. The little things work to start... knuckles to the back of the skull while scratching out, going left on a right and punching nuts as I go by, quick stabs with a sharpened piece of wire coat hanger and the ever classic "get low and ram 'em". There's always the fun parking lot activities too - slash some tires, wax some windows and then put courteous pamphlets under wipers explaining proper surf etiquette with a vague death threat.
Haha Oarons - that's a great name. You're right - it's not the paddle, it's the jerk with the paddle. Give a group of idiots the ability to plane faster with less physical effort and suddenly there's paddlefags clogging up every lineup. Oh well, paddle surfers bleed too. ;)

Yeah - with my Spyderco Delica :). I put a post up on 4chan looking for stencils for the board and someone posted Captain Spaulding and I printed it out and cut it and painted it. Glad you like it. :)

I got epoxying and sanding and touchup painting on an epoxy log I have and somehow ended up stenciling Captain Spaulding and the top 1/3 of the board jet black.

Was that steamroller in his trademark bright orange hunting cap and no wetsuit at the point this morning PADDLE SURFING?!!?

:) I got in the water about 20 mins before you got out - I called your name a few times but as usual you were lost in Stokeland. Shutting down the break on your own as usual, Hawaiian style - brought back memories of "Big Wednesday". :) We gotta meet up for a session again one of these days.
Okay now that I think of it - what the hell happened? I'm out of the water 18 months and I come back and every surfer and his Aunt Martha is out there with a fookin paddle, breaking rotation and snaking waves. I blame Laird.

What are you talking about man? Wetsand says it will be DOH+++++++ 22 second period massive 35 foot faces at standout breaks and 20 foot faces at Mondos! Pfff... nipple high on the Kraken maybe. We're all gonna drown!

I'm just stoked to be able to surf. I didn't get any stinkeye at the point either and everyone was glad to see me. Time to whip this fat ass into shape and ride some waves.

:) It's good to hear from you guys - I miss all of you a lot. I did kind of disappear for two years... a lot happened and I mellowed out a lot too. So, there probably won't be any battles between me and mo lol. I may still stab the occasional kook and I'll definitely still ram people, but I'll do it with a smile. dwbh
I was MIA from the water too, I only started surfing again last week.
wooha - I promise I'll be on here more often. :)
anne - where have I been? Well... I've been at home. Lost my marbles, lost my wife, now a single dad. They're with me 3 days a week and we just have fun now.

steamroller - surfers point just ain't the same anymore. Completely overrun by kooks, not just 90% overrun by kooks like it was when I left lol. Once I get my fat ass back in shape it will be time to regulate the situation again. How's the tower man?
ringer - :) can I slay the fatted calf?
shred - good to see you too. I spend a lot of lunches staring off the PCH missing the surf, whenever it's spitting sometimes I expect to see you come flying out of a shorepound tube.
I hope everyone got some good surf during this swell - I know I had a blast. I'll stick around this time. Sorry about disappearing. :(
