Even the Salani surf camp was wiped out completely. Greenroomjunkie, isn't that where you stayed last time you were there? http://www.surfsamoa.com/
I heard from Scott Bass that the surf camp was taken out.
My thoughts and prayers to the people living this nightmare right now.
That is a beautiful setup.. hope they are able to recover.
The Salani Resort and the Coconut's resorts were both destroyed in the tsunami(s). I went to Salani back in 2001 and it is still one of the best trips of my life. The people of Samoa are amazing, and the surf is nothing less than a world class dream.
I have attached some pics of the resort and surrounding area from my trip, hope it inspires travel for you all.
Malo (hello) and Thank You to the people of Salani and pray for a healthy and speedy recovery.

Man, everytime I see these pics I think about how incedible it must be over there.
These made me want to be there man... I really hope they recover soon.
Yepper!
Sad situation... Lots of folks here in Oceanside from the Samoan community.. and many have lost family.. Many are still trying to get in touch with some of their family to see what happened... Bad all the way around... I heard the wave hit Hawaii so fast that the system there could not react!!! That is BAD! I know that the sirens there have gone off for a test and freaked me right out of my shorts if you been smokin' the pako lolo and not expectin' it!
