I have what I think are some decent shots... but no way to upload them for a while. solid double overhead swell last week, ulu's probably closer to triple. Took some beatings. Nightlife in Kuta is bloody insane. ETC ETC.

Yeah, mystical place, wish I could have been there 'back in the day'. Talking to regulars/residents, its amazing how much it has changed in the past 20-? years.
The bukit peninsula reminded me of the north shore of oahu. So much development, surfers all over. Once I got over the initial euphoria of riding the waves I'd heard so much about, my stoke was dampened. Too many serious surfer types, ho brah I live to surf, this is my wave brah. I only ride waves because its fun and brings me joy.
Went to Kuta beach for hedonistic reasons and ended up loving that beach break. Long beach and crowds tended to group together like sheep, so I got as many waves as I wanted in between the packs... In fact, I got the rights at dreamland to myself every day as well, while there may have been 20 on the lefts (which weren't even that great)... most people really are thoughtless followers.
The nightlife in Kuta rages. However, the girl to guy ratio is horrible. I was fortunate enough to meet a wonderful local lady and lets just say that I didn't do much surfing after that. Brown sugar... mmmmm. Indonesian, especially Balinese women are some of the most beautiful I've ever come across. Tight.
