I once saw a huge pelican surf a wave a jalama. I am not talking about gliding above the water. This one was IN the water on the wave. It rode it long enough for me to get Mofo's attention and point it out to him. The wave was about 4 ft. and the bird took off straight and rode the surf in....

yes very weird since some are close to the break and soup.
good thing it is kelp though.

here's me kooking it up in a sequence from sep 07 at d-st. look for my big ass board at the con. the sequence ends with it sectioning out, i don't remember if i got around it or not. it was pretty steep that day.
these are the only half decent pics i have. nobody i know wants to miss waves when its good and hold a camera. myself included lol
