C-St : Fat tide but good shape, 2-3' oh and the water was warm. 3/2 still.
so?
sandy reef break
sat morning, 8am tide high tide...still couple of decent waves (lucky those wrongboarders
were way too far oustide waiting for the "sets" lol)
sat afternoon , excellent caught, " all i can surf" in a 45 minutes session
4-5 feet and decent shape - a few long rides this morning. I'm still too out of shape and looked like a total kook out there.
I think today was the best day for this swell here in northern SD.
fun stuff... damn waht's the unemployment rate? crowded as hell, nobody work anymore?
been riding the hp thruster, i'm doing fine but it's just more fun on a more skatey board tomorrow i'll surf my xanadu pig 2quad again.
I was wondering the same thing too! Saw more strange faces that I've never seen before since saturday than I ever want to see...
Dunno but Think where I surfed was better yesterday than today!!! most spots getting Mushy!!!!
It was funny to see a bunch of strange faces going to some of the familliar No. Co. breaks that were totally closed out this morning..and watching these "Dorks" paddle out anyway.. it was as if Sean Collins had personally told them to surf there and BY God they were gonna surf there cause Sean told them to!
These were the same Dipshits who were sitting off on the inside as the swell was building on Sat. yelling shit like,..... "Hey,.... Didn't You see me sitting inside here! What were you going to do run over me????" Answer,.... Next time YES Stupid!!!!!
Last night was gorgeous. fun, consistant chest/shoulder high rights peeling down the point. light crowd of incompetant surfers. I caught loads of waves because the guy riding would bail and i'd just turn and go. waves were kinda soft but if yaconnected the sections properly ya got some speed for manuevers. One wave I just drenched a guy with a cutback. I had to go "peddle to the metal" for two sections and right after, there is a guy lazily floating up the shoulder. wave had more sections down the line too.
I didnt wait for a set wave to shoot the pic. In the distance you can see a flotilla of squid boats waiting for darkness.
Nice man. I got your text but there was no way to get out there that late in the day.
Wow... some fun days though.
Saturday I was very limited on time and surf that point pictured above and posted up for an hour with Brye and 794 of our closest friends. Caught a couple of fun waves, head high on the better ones and lined up from the point all the way into the bay. You had to be very vocal if you wanted a long ride. I only had one wave get f'd up by somebody crumbling it up, but other than that I suprisingly had fun. Sunday morning I pulled up there at 7 and surfed until 11. Wow. What a great friggin morning. Lined up and nice fast fun rides from the top of the point. At first I was bummed because it was already packed by 7... so I paddle out and realize that I recognize almost every face on the point. So, it's anarchy, but atleast everybody is well mannered. Controled chaos, you could say. I wound up getting some incredible rights, just nutso. I had one guy drop in on me and it was on a wave that was just starting to barrel and then it just pinched off when he dropped in... bummed.... for two minutes until the next one. Had a great morning.
Monday morning was also very very cool. No crowd at 6! I surfed by myself for about an hour and then a couple people started paddling out but nobody worth me worrying about. I grabbed wave after wave until 7:30. Right when people started crowding the place I was done. Nice timing.
Yesterday... sick baby. Stayed home all day.
This morning was blah. High tide. Very high tide. I still paddled out and got a couple weak ones from the point.... two waves. One wave better than I thought I was going to get.
I hope all of you are off today and getting stoked on some fun waves.
I will be sitting here in my cube thinking about our next swell.
beautiful morning
tide was a lil high of course, still fun and some size too
could be very good on the right tide...if you can leave early or take the afternoon off i think it's gonna be worth it.
This morning was a blast. I was in by 5:45 and out by 7:30. Had one of the best lefts I've had in awhile off the point...screeeeeeeeeeaming down the line just flying trying to make the section.... made it. ![]()
Man, I heard SD was pumping this morning.
yup it was fun here
i got a fast backside too.
but it was not that rippable... (at the peak i was)more like racing down the line avoiding to get shut down.
Had a blast today - I was only out for an hour but had all the rides I wanted. Thicker high tide wedges but still shoulder high on the bigger sets. I ran into steamroller out there too, he was stoked as hell.
fun again today. much smaller and not as consistent.
i played the "inside game", only paddeling further out when i felt the bigger sets coming, it payed off.![]()
hopefully tomorrow the new swell will fill in on time... otherwise i'll take the day off.
fun HH surf last night. got a good workout as i went to wide open beachbreak. i surfed a peak with a gnarly rip right through the middle of it - made for constant paddling. Its been fun doing the skateboard style vertical dropins. looow tide.
