"GIVEN RECENT STRUCTURAL CHANGES...IT MIGHT NOT BE LONG TILL GUILLERMO BECOMES A HURRICANE"

don't know if the lending edge is aimed at so-cal, but might be our best chance yet in the past 7 years

I'm grabbing my fins and going for a swim after work. My wife just asked me to. She said I need to go for a body surf or take my mat out or do something to get rid of my bad mood.

I'm frustrated at work, I'm snapping at people, and easily agrivated. I check the reports every two hours to see if anything has changed since the last check two hours ago.
I am going nutso.

I might start shaping some hand planes this week for better body surfing. I also realized that I need to pick up a new dive mask last weekend. I cleaned my garage last weekend. It's the cleanest it has been in a long time. The house is immaculate, esp. with the wifey nesting and me having no friggin surf for the past few weeks.

We need some surf. We really need some surf. I'm going out of my mind. neutral

I just arrived in Rome a few hours ago. It was 38 degrees C today, there's no wind and the Tyrrhenean Sea is FLAT. I'm still going for a swim tomorrow. If I'm at my favorite spot when the ferry for Sardinia passes I might be able to catch something on an SUP!

you need to get the rotflmao icon.  i'm sure their gonna get good surf...  and 16 seconds is a nice interval.  but i dunno about nearshore buoys hitting that height!  i mean they've had cat 4 sustained before right?  this thing barely hit 3 i think?

anyway - good for them.  stoked.

we're gonna finally  be geeeettin some too soon. i hope. i gotta get my camera wet again.

EC peoples = post some shots!

I like your glass is half full attitude Mofo but your not going to get 50ft faces (or anything near that) from a hurricane swell.  There is not enough fetch to make that possible.  You needs strong sustained winds for thousands of miles for that size.  Not really fast wind over hundreds of miles.  But if you can prove me wrong, I would love to see the pictures....grin

Hey man, that's from Magic Seaweed, not me. That was a quote from their site. MS is one of the least dependable sites so I don't really pay them much mind, I just thought it was kinda funny they were calling for 50 feet.

I drove down this morning, though the dark fog banks with a hot cup of coffee... flatness.

Flatness.

It was a lake.

Tiny bump in the middle of the bay, not enough push to even body surf. I would have.

Just flatness.

Sigh.... neutral

Surfline is calling Sundays peak in Nova Scotia to be 37-53 ft. @ 16 seconds!!

It is amazing to see how quickly the forecasters are predicting the swell to build and then just as quickly fade.  It looks like the winds are fugged on the peak day too - storm surf.

Anyway - I am sure the EC will be stoked Saturday and Monday.

The Northeast has so many nooks, bays and inlets.  I bet the call is to find some hh sheltered perfection.

MOfo - checked the cams - u need a skilmboard to complete your quiver.... Either that, or mask and fins - go snorkle the reefs when you can't surf at 6 am - lol.  Don't worry, this weekend and next week will bring relief.

Screw NP, Move to the Bu.  That way you can look out you back window to see what it looks like.  Plus, then I would have a place to crash the night before a good swell and save myself the 20 minute half asleep drive in the morn to go surf.  A lot easier to roll off a couch for a 5 minute walk for dawn patrol, then leaving a hot naked g/f to a cold 20 min. car ride and the hope that there is bump in the water............

Come on Baby..........Do it for uswink

Dude, the east coast is going nuts. Guys are crapping themselves on the forums, its absolutly wild. Guys are naming names asking if it will be too big for here and there. Just crazy.

Starfruits & sandylemons, how is it down there in Florida? Are you seeing anything yet?

Saturday and Sunday will be peaking there. There are going to be some crazy video and pics going around after this weekend.

Most places are predicting 8 to 12+.   surprise

Wow. I wonder how many east coast surfers have the guns for waves like this? smile

I've know quite a few people who have scored on renting out malibu 'guest' houses.  Can find the same thing in conejo or somis too minus the surf.

I will tell you what Mofo........I get the place in Malibu with the couch for me to crash on (not the red one) lol, and I will stop making fun of the fact that you root for two teams that have not and probably never will win the super bowl.

In fact.....If I can see the face of the waves from your property (no the HD view on Surfline does not count) I will seriously consider giving a pass on the shit talking about your age and how ugly you are.devil

Let the smack begin...........

I'm still able to get rogue 4 footers on the beaches with my gliders. I don't know if they're from shipping lanes or what, but they're there.

At least that beats nothing.

I don't know why you hotdoggers are afraid of hurting your manhood by owning a longboard. They catch little waves. They're fun to do silly little walking tricks on. They give you a reason to surf when things are ... well ... less than epic.

While you guys are complaining about not going out, I've been out 4 or 5 times. Got saltwater up my nose, stretched out the paddling arms a bit, stood up and glided on micro-bumps for 75 feet at a time, saw dolphins, saw a seal, saw a couple of leopards.

Life is good (but it would be better with a little swell).
